PLS-525 is a room temperature curing silicone rubber. It is a two-component silicone system, where part A is the liquid silicone and part B is the tin catalyst curing agent. It is suitable for mould making with polyurethane, polyester resins, plaster, wax, paraffin, concrete, liquid plastics and soap.

PLS-525 silicone rubber is a medium hard silicone with very good flowability, suitable for moulding medium and large size products with accurate detail reproduction.

  • Very good flowability and easy to use
  • Easy demoulding
  • Good elasticity and tensile strength
  • High tear resistance
  • Low linear shrinkage
  • Cures at room temperature
  • Suitable for repeated mould use
  • High detail accuracy and long service life

Instructions for use

Step 1: Prepare the master model

Make sure your master model is undamaged and ready for use. Clean it of any excess dirt. Fix it on a board or other surface for further silicone casting.

Step 2: Pouring the silicone

Take 100g of component A and add 2g of component B to it, mix very thoroughly.

*Note: moulding silicone rubber is a kind of flowable liquid consisting of two parts. Part A is the white coloured liquid component, part B is the hardener or catalyst. Always strictly follow the step-by-step instructions for use.

1. Always weigh both components using an ELECTRONIC WEIGHTS. If this recommendation is ignored and less or more of component A or B is added, the life time, curing time may vary. Also, failure to follow the weighing rule may generally affect the result of the work.

2. Mix components A and B evenly and thoroughly with each other. If you do not follow this recommendation, you will only see partial solidification of the silicone. Moreover, the finished moulds will not be as durable. There is a good chance that the mould will not be able to cure at all, which will result in unnecessary waste of silicone rubber.

Step 3: Using a vacuum chamber

This step is only a RECOMMENDATION. However, this step, takes only 10 minutes and if you have the option of using a vacuum chamber, it is best not to neglect this step in your work.

Step 4: Filling or Brush Coating

1. For master models with little or no detail, we recommend using the solid pouring method. The viscosity of the silicone will allow it to spread evenly on the surface by itself.

2. If the mastermodel has fine detailing, we recommend priming the surface with silicone using a brush.

3. For further use of the mould, it is recommended to unmould 12 hours after pouring.

Important storage information for molding silicone

This product is repackaged from large factory containers into smaller ones for easier handling and convenient use with small volumes. Please note the following storage recommendations after repackaging:

  1. (Component A) Store in a cool, dark place away from direct sunlight and heat sources. The recommended usage period after opening our packaging is up to 4–6 months.
  2. (Component B) Silicone catalysts, especially tin-based catalysts, are highly sensitive to temperature changes and humidity. Sediment may form, the color may darken, or the catalyst may crystallize. Always keep the container tightly sealed. If the catalyst has changed, do not use it and replace it with a fresh one.

The main rule for silicone: if components are stored separately, the chemical processes inside them continue over time. Before each important casting, perform a test using a small amount.
