Waterproof Makeup Remover – Easy DIY Recipe
Waterproof mascara, eyeliner and other long-lasting makeup are easiest to remove with a product containing both a water and an oil phase. You can easily make this simple two-phase makeup remover yourself.
Chamomile floral water forms the water phase, while almond, jojoba and olive oils help dissolve oil-soluble and waterproof makeup.
Ingredients – 25 ml
- 20 ml chamomile floral water
- 5 drops almond oil
- 5 drops jojoba oil
- 5 drops olive oil
Preparation
- Add all the ingredients to a clean bottle.
- Close the bottle and shake well.
Because the water and oil phases in this recipe are not emulsified, they will naturally separate after standing. Shake the bottle thoroughly before each use.
How to use
Shake well before use. Apply a small amount of the product to a cotton pad and place it over the area where you want to remove makeup. Hold for approximately 20–30 seconds to allow the oils to dissolve the waterproof makeup, then gently wipe it away.
Avoid rubbing the delicate eye area. If necessary, repeat with a clean cotton pad.
Important: Storage
This recipe contains chamomile floral water and therefore contains a water phase. Without a suitable cosmetic preservative, the finished product is not intended for long-term storage. Make small batches, use clean packaging and pay attention to any changes in the product's smell, colour or appearance.
If you want to make the product for longer-term storage or for sale, the formulation will require an appropriate preservation system and the finished cosmetic product will need a suitable safety assessment.
